A male Alpine Darner holds the female while she deposits eggs on vegetation in a quiet corner of a bog in the mountains, 1,470 metres above sea level.

Shortly after this, the male released the female and periodically patrolled up and down the bog while the female continued depositing eggs for at least the next 30 minutes.
